Position Summary
The Vice President, Technology & Innovation - Specialty Pharmacy is a forward-thinking executive responsible for leading the digital and systems strategy for Nufactor. This role plays a critical part in advancing how specialty therapies are delivered, with a strong emphasis on payer integration, manufacturer collaboration, and digital patient engagement. The VP is accountable for building a scalable and intelligent ecosystem of platforms and technologies that drive patient engagement, optimize reimbursement, enable clinical excellence, and power data-driven partnerships with payers and pharmaceutical manufacturers
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Innovation Leadership
- Define and lead the long-term systems and digital innovation strategy that supports Nufactor growth, competitive positioning, and patient-centered care.
- Establish a framework for innovation that leverages data, automation, AI, and emerging technologies to enhance specialty pharmacy workflows and outcomes.
- Serve as a key executive sponsor for innovation pilots with digital health startups, technology vendors, or pharma partners.
Payer Integration and Reimbursement Optimization
- Build advanced connectivity with payer systems for real-time benefit verification, prior authorization, formulary management, and outcomes reporting.
- Lead initiatives to digitize and automate interactions with health plans, streamlining access to therapy and reimbursement workflows.
- Ensure system capabilities support performance guarantees, value-based agreements, and risk-based payer models.
Pharmaceutical Manufacturer Collaboration
- Develop technology strategies that align with hub service models, REMS requirements, and limited distribution programs.
- Enable seamless data exchange and reporting to pharmaceutical manufacturers, including insights on adherence, persistence, and clinical outcomes.
- Collaborate with pharma partners to co-develop digital companion solutions or patient support programs.
Digital Patient Engagement
- Scale digital platforms for proactive and personalized patient communication across mobile, SMS, portals, and apps.
- Integrate patient-reported outcomes and adverse reactions into core pharmacy systems.
- Ensure all tools are designed to reduce time to therapy, improve satisfaction, and support continuity of care.
System Governance and Technology Optimization
- Oversee the design, integration, and lifecycle management of specialty pharmacy technologies (e.g., Therigy, Wellsky, Inovalon, Salesforce).
- Lead cross-functional steering committees to prioritize technology investments and innovation projects.
- Ensure interoperability with EHRs, PBMs, Hubs and data exchange standards like HL7, FHIR, and NCPDP.
Leadership and Vendor Management
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of pharmacy technology, digital product, and innovation professionals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with pharmacy operations, regulatory affairs, corporate IT, and manufacturer partners in a highly collaborative, matrixed organization.
- Promote a culture of shared success by facilitating open communication and collective problem-solving across diverse business units.
- Lead the selection, integration, and optimization of specialty pharmacy software platforms and technologies.
- Define and execute product strategy for digital pharmacy tools to enhance clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and patient engagement.
- Manage vendor contracts, SLA performance, and co-development partnerships with tech companies and health IT firms.
- Lead vendor management and software lifecycle governance, including budgeting, contract negotiation, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Analyze pharmacy data insights to inform technology improvements, care interventions, and commercialization strategies.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, URAC, and state/federal regulatory requirements.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, computer science, health informatics, or related field required.
- PharmD, MBA, or Master’s degree in health IT strongly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in pharmacy, healthcare technology, or digital innovation, with at least five (5) years in a senior or VP-level leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading payer or manufacturer-facing technology solutions in a specialty pharmacy or healthcare setting.
Skills:
- Deep understanding of specialty pharmacy operations, payer contracting, and digital health platforms.
- Strong analytical, change management, and communication skills.
- Expertise in pharmacy technology ecosystems and regulatory requirements.
Physical requirements
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for long periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. Must be able to travel. The employee occasionally lifts up to 20 lbs. and occasionally kneels and bends. Working condition include normal office setting.
