




About This Role:
Join our Quantitative Sciences & Development Operations team as an Associate Director of Strategic Operations Performance and Outsourcing, where you will act as a relationship manager of key vendors delivering clinical trial services or resources. You'll ensure that our outsourcing strategies align with Biogen's goals, delivering exceptional value through industry best practices and solid vendor performance. You will be a key contributor to evolving a vendor management framework that includes governance, managing risk, and fostering robust vendor relationships to support multiple operating models. Driving a continuous improvement culture of vendor success will be a key accountability. Reporting to a SOPO Leadership role, you will drive strategic initiatives, ensuring compliance and effective issue resolution, enhancing Biogen's operational excellence.
What You'll Do:
- Be a Vendor Ambassador and/or lead oversight of key clinical trial vendor services including issue management/escalations and inspection readiness, collaborating with functional SMEs.
- Lead Biogen cross functional teams in strong, compliant governance activities, building transparent communication channels within vendor relationships.
- Drive development and execution of vendor oversight plans across functional areas.
- Establish key performance indicators for vendor services, managing risks and promoting continuous improvement.
- Align vendor engagements with corporate policies, working with Global Sourcing, R&D IT, and Compliance teams.
- Monitor resource allocation to meet service needs and uphold MSA/SOW terms.
- Lead/drive projects and initiatives that relate to vendor qualification, selection, performance oversight and governance activities.
- Lead or contribute to development of department systems, processes and templates.
- Line manage personnel directly or in-directly to support a people management matrix, as per business needs.

Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5-7 years of clinical trial experience within the pharma/biotech/CRO industry.
- 2-3 yrs expertise in relationship management and oversight of outsourced partners at the portfolio level, including inspection and audit experience.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical trial vendor services and vendor contracting strategies.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, conflict resolution and team building skills.
- Proficient in project management and risk mitigation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities.
- Skilled in change management and leading teams through transitions.
- Self-starter and can lead autonomously within ambiguity.
Additional Information
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
