Berklee is seeking a dedicated Counselor to join our Health and Wellness team and provide student-centered, culturally responsive mental health services. As a counselor at Berklee, you'll help ensure students have the emotional and psychological support they need to thrive artistically and personally.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide short-term individual and group counseling, psychological assessments, and referrals to community providers
- Offer crisis intervention and on-call support as part of a rotating team
- Collaborate with Health and Wellness colleagues on outreach programming and psychoeducational events
- Consult with faculty, staff, and student leaders to support student mental health across the Berklee community
- Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in weekly supervision, staff meetings, and divisional retreats
- Support students through post-hospitalization planning and transitions
- Serve on college-wide committees and support department-wide initiatives
What You Bring:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
- Current licensure in Massachusetts (LICSW, LMFT, LMHC, or Licensed Psychologist)
- 3+ years of counseling experience, ideally in college or community mental health
- Strong skills in assessment, intervention, and trauma-informed care
- Experience working with diverse and multicultural student populations
- Knowledge of eating disorders, substance use treatment, and mental health systems
- A passion for creative, inclusive, and student-centered care
