The Assistant Director of Budget and Financial Planning is a critical member of Berklee’s Finance team, helping ensure our resources are aligned with our purpose: nurturing the creative and career potential of our students. What You'll Do
- Partner with departments across the institution to support the development of the annual budget, monthly forecasts, and long-term financial models
- Analyze and monitor compensation, benefits, student employment, and federal work-study budgets
- Work closely with HR and Academic Affairs to manage position control, staffing budgets, and vacancy analysis
- Deliver clear, accurate financial reports and recommendations to senior leadership
- Support capital budgeting and financial decision-making aligned with Berklee’s strategic goals
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve systems, streamline processes, and automate reporting
- Contribute to presentations and insights that help guide institutional planning and stewardship
Who You Are
You’re an experienced financial professional (5+ years) with a strong grasp of budgeting, forecasting, and analysis—ideally in a higher ed setting. You’re known for your attention to detail, judgment, and discretion when working with sensitive data, and you enjoy solving problems and making systems more efficient.
You build strong relationships across departments, communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels, and bring a positive, proactive approach to your work. You’re skilled in Excel and comfortable working with systems like Workday or Adaptive Insights.
