Rocky Mountain Westy/Van Cafe is an industry leader in VW Vanagon/Craft camper van parts sales and aftermarket accessories, including the development and fabrication of Vanagon upgrades.

Position Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate

Department: Inventory Control & Warehouse

 

General Purpose

Support daily warehouse activities required to meet the needs of the business. Warehouse members are responsible for all freight movement - unloading, loading, stocking, picking and shipping. This position requires strong attention to detail, quality control and strong inventory management skills.

 

Receiving Responsibilities:

• Manages the receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.

• Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.

• Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.

• Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing personnel.

• Unpacking/packing boxes; stocks parts on shelves

• Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording inventory locations

 

Shipping Responsibilities:

• Load small packages and skids

• Tracks, traces, and updates the status of outgoing shipments.

• Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.

• Maintains a clean and safe work area

• Delivery of parts to various locations

• Maintain files of shipping records

• Determine that all outgoing shipments are properly packaged, labeled and that correlating documents are available with each shipment

 

Warehouse Responsibilities:

• Conducts physical count of parts/supplies for cycle inventory

• Advises stock outs and low stock problems based on inventory system data or visual inspection

• Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves and counting accurately.

• Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives

 

Shipping and Receiving Qualifications/Skills:

• Experienced with Domestic and International shipping requirements

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Strong sense of time organization and urgency

• Able to work independently and within a team

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and move up to 50 to 100 pounds.

• Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software

 

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

• Forklift Certification within 30 days of job entry date

They are twin brothers who both have a passion for innovation and the automotive industry. Together they have built a team of 21 people that share the common goal of being the leader in the Vanagon accessory market. Rocky Mountain Westy has a very unique position in the Vanagon market. We are a manufacturing facility. We make a significant portion of our products right here in our facility. This gives us the ability to test and design and it many cases redesign our products. You can be sure that you will always get a quality product from Rocky Mountain Westy.

Our business has bloomed from a dream to a hobby to a part time job to a well established small business with lots of momentum. We became a incorporated business in Colorado in 2004. In 2007 we moved into a current location and started our sister company “Mr Mechanic”. As much as all us of love our Westy’s, local Toyota and Chevy customers just don’t get the Rocky Mountain Westy name. Mr Mechanic is focused on day to day auto repair of all makes and models. We are in a owner occupied facility and we have the infrastructure and capacity to be in business for a long time to come.

Our Staff has an amazing amount of experience and talent. We have over 50 years of combined welding skills. We have over 50 years of combined Automotive Repair experience. We have over 30 years of combined manufacturing experience. Why is all this important? Bottom line is we can solve problems. Our team has the experience and knows how to create a plan and follow it through to completion. We can build the ultimate Vanagon you have been dreaming of. Rocky Mountain Westy is located in beautiful North Fort Collins. Fort Collins is the gateway to the beautiful Rocky Mountains. We feel very fortunate to have resided in such a beautiful location and be so geographically accessible to so many of our customers nationwide.
