About us

Gándara Center’s mission is to promote the well-being of Hispanics, African Americans, and other culturally diverse populations through innovative culturally competent behavioral health, prevention, and education services. Established in 1977 The Gándara Center provides outpatient mental health and substance use services to the growing and largely unserved Hispanic community in Western Massachusetts. Gándara Center serves more than 10,000 people from all backgrounds per year at 45 locations across the state of Massachusetts.

The HR Generalist/Business Partner is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to our Gandara Mental Health Center. The role is critical in executing our employee initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.

HR Generalist/Business Partner Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement
  • Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
  • Coaching and mentoring at management level
  • Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Key strengths are recognized as - flexibility, outstanding communication skills and huge amounts of drive
  • The ability to be comfortable with high volume workload with strong interest in collaborating with other HR Business Partners.
  • A strong solutions focus and be comfortable working in an environment which demands time sensitive deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborates with Centers of Expertise i.e., Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Talent Acquisition and oversees project work connected to the client to ensure cohesive delivery of HR programs and services to the client.
  • Strong internal and external customer service focus.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on results.
  • Bias for action, strong work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence.
  • Must be able to interface at all levels of the organization.
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

HR Generalist/Business Partner Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration. Exceptions will be considered.
  • 3-5 plus years Human Resource Generalist or Business Partner experience, or an equivalent combination of experiences in one or more Center of Expertise, such as Employee Relations, Talent Management, Recruitment, or Compensation.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, lead and manage projects
  • Exceptional presentation skills’ strong written and verbal communication
  • Prior change management experience highly desired
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, database management and internet.
  • Excellent interpersonal assessment, communication and teamwork skills.
