Job Description

Drive HSE Strategy Deployment to achieve a World Class HSE Culture. Lead strategic and tactical programs with the staff to improve performance and sustainability. Evaluate and improve the HSE training strategy, policy revision, employee development, effective decision making. Manage Compliance Audits, Self Audits and Action Item tracking to timely closure. Drive cost improvements in HSE services and supplies. Coordinate employee driven safety committees. Develop trend analysis and appropriate action plan. Direct the safety, health, environmental and security programs, including air, hazardous and solid waste, occupational safety, contractor safety, industrial hygiene, process safety, and management systems. Manage interactions and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, outside support / consulting groups, and regulatory agency personnel. Accountable for supporting and completing departmental goals. Conduct routine audits to identify any deficiencies and develop appropriate corrective actions to assure the protection of the environment and maintaining full compliance with applicable government regulations, permits, Health Safety, Environmental and Security policies and procedures. Develop, give presentations, and training to all site personnel. Lead /participate in root cause investigations as necessary for any environmental, safety, or other incident(s) and ensure that all required reports and corrective actions are implemented in a timely and accurate manner. Establish and maintain HSE documentation and record keeping. Utilize industry standards and behavior-based safety strategies to guide injury prevention efforts. Ensure compliance with State, Federal and Corporate Health Safety, Environmental and Security guidelines. HSE Manager will be responsible to take new employees through training and orientation.  Organize and maintain annual Workman’s Comp and company insurance documents for vendors.  Organize and attend safety meetings at company worksites and customer locations, as required.

 

Work Experience Requirements

Minimum 7 years’ experience in a Health, Safety, and Environmental role within a manufacturing environment.

Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience.

Must be willing to travel nationwide on a limited basis.

 

Education Requirements

BS degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, and Engineering or a related technical discipline or combination education and work experience suitable for the position.
