Davidson College - Cafe Supervisor

Davidson College is hiring for the position of Café Supervisor in our Dining Services Department. Café Supervisor is a 40 hour per week, benefited position offering insurance options, paid vacation accrual, paid holidays, and other benefits. This is a full time position, although work may be limited during academic breaks. The Café Supervisor is responsible for supervision of employees and resources of a fast paced college food service establishment. Requires highly motivated, hands on, committed professional who is a team player.

Job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervision and training of production staff and cashiers
  • Customer service
  • Register operation
  • Sanitation management

Education and Experience requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Vocational training in culinary arts strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a foodservice supervisory role

Physical/Environmental Demands:

Work in industrial kitchen with heavy equipment, sharp utensils and cutlery, steam tables and ovens; requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds often. Work area may be hot and floors may be wet creating slippery or hazardous conditions. Brief exposure to freezing environment (walk-in freezer). Exposure to cleaning chemical/detergents. Night and weekend work required.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 /hour DOE
