Job summary

Base Transceiver Station (BTS) of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Technician:

The BTS Technician I, II, and III are hands-on roles that work closely with the Construction Manager and Installation Technicians.

Level I, II, and III is based on the skill level and experience of the Technician.

Only local candidates will be considered.

Location:

  • Duluth, GA

Responsibilities:

  • Must possess 2-3 year's experience working in Head End equipment rooms installing various types of Communication/Base Station equipment
  • Assemble and install communication equipment, microwave, GSM and base station equipment
  • Communicate with management to receive instructions, technical advice or to report equipment status
  • Install Alpha, GE and Emerson power and battery cabinets onsite
  • Install and maintain BTS equipment and accessories including radio, router and AC/DC power equipment in DAS environment
  • Ability to interpret drawings, RFDS and engineering documents
  • Install ladder racks, racks, radios and sub-racks per installation procedures
  • Install cables (both power, RF and fiber including lacing and non-lacing techniques)
  • Collaborate with other workers in order to locate and correct malfunctions
  • Use of various test equipment such as Anritsu, PIM testers and power meters
  • Install per cellular carrier installation standards

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of strongly related experience with DAS installations preferred
  • Knowledge of the terminology used in the in-building Distributed Antennae System (DAS) Industry
  • Strong understanding of DAS infrastructure and related services
  • Ability to travel up to 3 weeks at a time.
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Pass Background, Drug Test and MVR (driving record) Pre-Employment Screening.
  • Finger & wrist dexterity & hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to work from heights such as man lifts, scissor lifts & roof tops utilizing proper fall protection.
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, Visio, and Power Point
  • Comprehensive understanding of contract scope and requirements for pro-active management of projects and integration into processes

Working Conditions

  • Use of small hand tools.
  • Use of power tools.
  • Climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds.
  • Carrying of loads up & down stairs.
  • Exposure to noisy or dusty conditions; chemicals & solvents; mechanical, electrical, and/or other hazards.
  • General hours of Monday through Friday (Saturday work also required depending on project) 7:00am to 5:30pm. But ability to provide support during and outside regular business hours is required.
  • Work indoor/outdoor with variable conditions
  • Regional travel required.
  • Must be able to work in the United States.
