Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, this position will direct the creative and multimedia strategy for the college's marketing and communications efforts while also serving as the primary developer of the college's multimedia presentations and content. This position will be the subject matter expert on multimedia development and coordinate the office's graphic design, web content, as well as audio-visual, photography and videography efforts. Critical responsibilities of this role include managing a staff of marketing and media specialists and driving multimedia efforts including: 1) maintaining and improving academic and prospective student pages on the main college website; 2) partnering with OTS and other departments to deploy website design changes; 3) managing the implementation of new interactive technology to support the college brand and marketing campaigns; 4) developing and managing multimedia content from initial concept through final deployment; 5) overseeing internal and external audio/video productions and video streaming efforts from scheduling to post-production; 6) working with communications office to develop appropriate graphics and multimedia presentations for college leadership; and, 7) ensuring graphic design projects are prioritized and completed as needed by office and college leadership. This position will also be expected to make recommendations about best practices in website content presentation and multimedia production while staying up-to-date on graphic design and audio-visual trends. Other priorities include event setup and assistance, onsite and offsite image and video capture, interdepartmental communications and multiple computer-driven tasks and projects.

Required Qualifications

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Multimedia design, visual communication, multimedia animation, audio-visual production, digital media, graphic design or related field with 4 years of experience in multimedia development OR any bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience in multimedia development, multimedia arts, digital media design or graphic design.
  • History of producing of multimedia titles using images, video, audio and graphics from various sources, from initial concept through scripting. storyboarding, production and distribution for online use and presentations.
  • Experience with multimedia software tools including the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Pro, After Effects, as well as graphic design programs such as InDesign and Illustrator, video/still cameras and Photoshop.
  • Experience developing complex, creative presentations with multimedia components using PowerPoint, Keynote or similar software.
  • Experience managing multiple staff members with varied creative backgrounds.

 


Preferred Qualifications

 

 

  • History of planning, implementing and operating a digital media solution including networked hardware and cloud-based solutions for media transmission to remote receivers.
  • Experience with motion graphics/animation and infographic creation.
  • Experience with CMS-driven web pages and appropriate source coding in order to incorporate multimedia content.

  • Ability to operate variety of traditional audio/visual recording and streaming components for internal and external events as well as webcast/webinar production.

  • Experience developing guidelines and standards for multimedia and online content creation including but not limited to layout, photography usage, typesetting, illustration and implementation.

  • Skilled in interacting diplomatically in diverse settings and managing expectations of key stakeholders and/or their direct reports to ensure multimedia projects are completed on time.

  • Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
