Make a Difference Every Day - Join Our Team as a Water Production Maintenance Mechanic!
Are you looking for a hands-on career where your skills directly support the health and well-being of others? The Department of Public Utilities is seeking an innovative, motivated, and team-oriented Water Production Maintenance Mechanic to help provide one of life's most essential services: clean, safe drinking water. This is more than just a job-it's an opportunity to serve your community while working with a dedicated team that values reliability, responsibility, and pride in public service.
As a Water Production Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the mechanical systems that keep our water treatment operations running smoothly. Your daily work will ensure the infrastructure supporting thousands of residents remains safe, efficient, and dependable. If you're a problem-solver who enjoys working with your hands and being part of a team with a shared purpose, we encourage you to apply.
In your capacity as a Water Production Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical, electronic, and general-purpose systems vital to our water treatment operations. You'll install and maintain facility systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate with vendors to keep materials and parts in stock. You'll respond to service orders and inspections, troubleshoot issues, and restore equipment to proper working order-all while keeping detailed records and contributing to a safe, organized work environment.
Your work will also include light administrative support such as filing, phoning, or copying, and you'll often assist your team with guidance or direction to help accomplish shared tasks. Strong communication and collaboration are essential, as you'll be part of a team that values cooperation and mutual support.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical systems and equipment used in water treatment facilities, with experience diagnosing and repairing pumps, motors, valves, and other components. A commitment to safety is a must, along with a working knowledge of occupational hazards and proper precautions. Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a genuine dedication to public service and a desire to help keep our community healthy and thriving.
At the Department of Public Utilities, you'll find a meaningful career with purpose, stability, and opportunities for growth. Apply today and join the team that powers public health every day!
