POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for effectively and efficiently performing the task responsibilities of the warehouse including but not limited to; receiving, stocking, picking, delivering, manning the counter, taking orders, etc. This individual is particularly responsible for all aspects of the delivery of package goods orders to customers. This is typically a day shift position with occasional after hours and weekends.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The Warehouse (Box Truck Delivery) Associate reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

WAREHOUSE RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES:

* All aspects of preparation, coordination, loading, and delivery of package goods orders.

* Answering the phone, taking orders, answering questions, etc. from both customers and sales associates.

* Manning the counter and serving walk-in/retail customers.

* Writing up paperwork and entering computer data required to record orders, receiving of product, shipping of goods, inventory adjustments, etc.

* Work within the warehouse itself doing tasks such as; stocking, organizing, inventory, repackaging, receiving, preparing delivery orders, etc.

* Assist and/or fill-in when required for other warehouse personnel (box truck, dispatch, front desk, etc.), as well as, other related departments (tank/transport truck, water truck, etc.).

* Assist when necessary in ordering product, taking inventory, and other miscellaneous warehouse duties and responsibilities.

TEAM-BUILDING, QUALITY, SAFETY, HEALTH, AND COMPLIANCE:

* Promote and practice programs designed to maintain effective compliance with all laws concerning safety, health, and the environment such as OSHA and MIOSHA.

* Comply with all accident/hazard prevention programs, report non-compliances, and record and report incidents of accidents, cause/effects, and related outcomes.

* Understand and at all times act in compliance with all EEO, NLRB, and affirmative action laws and promote equal employment opportunity regardless of race, weight, age, familial status, religion, or national origin.

* Promote team-building approaches, provide encouragement, and maintain involvement to ensure improved morale, a positive attitude and a sense of participation by all personnel.

* Participate in the development and implementation of cost improvement programs to increase labor & material handling efficiency and to control & minimize waste, scrap, and rework throughout the organization.



PHYSICAL:

Body positions: Driving in a box truck delivery vehicle. Sitting, standing, and walking in an oil products warehouse environment.

Body movements: Walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending and reaching with the ability to lift 70lbs (more when using various devices to assist in moving warehouse goods).

Body senses: Use of vision and hearing in the communication with customers, warehouse, and office personnel.

MENTAL:

General Knowledge: Basic mathematics and sufficient computational and spatial ability to read, write, and interpret various office/warehouse documents. Ability to utilize the computer and related office software. Demonstrate the ability to be a cooperative worker, effective communicator, and problem solver under moderate stress situations.

Language: Ability to effectively communicate in English both written and verbally.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The Warehouse (Box Truck Delivery) Associate will spend the majority of their time in a box truck delivery vehicle or the warehouse and related environments performing regular duties. Departures for training and meetings at other company locations are also a periodic requirement of the position.

OTHER:

A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required to operate any type of vehicle which has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 lb (11,793 kg) or more for commercial use, or transports quantities of hazardous materials that require warning placards under Department of Transportation regulations.

A HAZMAT Endorsement: on your driver's license is required to operate any type of vehicle which transports quantities of hazardous materials that require warning placards under Department of Transportation regulations.
