JOB SUMMARY

This leader will work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, customer service, manufacturing, engineering, sales and government officials on large scale and small impact projects. Accountable for all areas of the PMO, this position will provide clear leadership and vision, inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills.  Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the business will be critical to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards. The Blue Bird team is dedicated to ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritized and you will facilitate, direct and drive implementation of Lean Business strategy and drive Continuous Improvement across the business. This is a creative role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with senior leadership to set business growth goals and objectives
  • Communicate goals of the company to all to the PMO and throughout the stakeholders.
  • Work closely with project sponsor(s), cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the company to overcome roadblocks, align priorities, and maintain momentum.
  • Manage program and project teams for optimal return on investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives.
  • Identify key requirements for cross-functional teams and external vendors/customers and governmental agencies.
  • Develop and manage budget for projects and be accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives
  • Lead program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for managers and stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS

  • Proven track record of delivering work product both as an individual and as a team leader
  • Deep Subject Matter Expertise in the field of School Bus Manufacturing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to lead, plan, prioritize, organize, and coordinate work with and through others
  • Results driven, highly detail oriented
  • Demonstrated business acumen, and relationship management
  • Hands on work ethic with results focus is required
  • Proficient leveraging multiple ERPs, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong project management skills
  • Track record of driving improvements using a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Significant influencing and collaboration skills across matrixed organization structure
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with different levels of the organization to negotiate, problem solve, complete projects and influence decision making
  • Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and within teams in order to establish and meet deadlines, goals, and objectives;
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Exceptional skills in leadership, time management, facilitation, and organization
  • Experience in managing stakeholders
  • Outstanding knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes
  • Solid understanding of the business environment, market challenges and emerging trends in the school bus industry
  • Driven, enthusiastic, resilient, agile and highly motivated
  • Strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Detail oriented and able to multitask

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering required
  • Master's degree desired.
  • 10+ years of experience in an upper-management role, preferably in program management
  • All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
