Full Job Description
Are you a cybersecurity professional with a sharp eye for threats and a passion for protecting data and infrastructure? The City of Chesapeake is seeking a Systems Security Analyst to join our security team and help defend critical systems across the enterprise.
In this role, you'll be on the front lines of our cybersecurity operations - identifying, investigating, and responding to security threats, while also helping to assess and improve our overall security posture. You'll work with cutting-edge tools and take part in the City's push to securely modernize its technology landscape.

What You'll Do:
- Detect, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats using enterprise tools.
- Monitor system and network security to ensure compliance with policies and best practices.
- Coordinate operational activities based on data analysis and report on outcomes.
- Review project plans, contracts, and field reports to ensure progress and accuracy.
- Evaluate City infrastructure conditions using technical measuring tools.
- Work with contractors, engineers, and internal teams to resolve issues and recommend improvements.
- Lead inspections and resolve minor technical issues on construction or IT projects.
- Assist in budgeting, cost analysis, and reviewing contractor invoices and change orders.
- Develop and manage related programs, including evaluation systems and risk prevention.
- Mentor junior staff, coordinate field operations, and participate in professional development.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong cybersecurity knowledge with hands-on experience in system monitoring and threat response.
- Ability to lead projects, assess risks, and coordinate technical teams or field operations.
- Familiarity with infrastructure, inspection, or construction coordination is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable reviewing both technical data and policy documents.
- Effective communicator and problem-solver who thrives in a team environment.
