The North Caldwell Board of Education is searching for an exceptionally innovative educational leader to serve as our new Superintendent. We are a high-performing suburban District which is well-supported by our community, with a history of providing an exceptional educational experience. Our district focuses on the health and well-being of the children we serve, so that all North Caldwell students can reach their full potential in a developmentally appropriate and safe environment.

We are a high-achieving school district. The Gould School recently earned the distinction of being named a National Blue Ribbon by the DOE in 2020. The involvement of parents and community members is one of the most important strengths of our district. Parents and community members are encouraged to volunteer within their child’s school as they add a wealth of experience from varied careers, talents and interests. The North Caldwell Partnership for Education (NCPE) is a significant force in improving the quality of our educational environment and programs.

Currently we educate just over 700 students in grades PreK to 6 in two school buildings in northwestern Essex County, with an operating budget of approximately $19m. We employ a highly-valued staff of 80 certificated and 33 non-certificated professionals, with 5 administrators. Our students continue their educational journey at West Essex Middle School and West Essex High School in the West Essex Regional School District.

The North Caldwell BOE is looking for candidates who excel in community relations and all aspects of communication, most especially with parents, community, staff, and the Board of Education; in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation; in long-range strategic planning; and in meeting the needs of all learners. Motivational educational leaders who are highly skilled in staff development, teacher/admin evaluations, personnel recruitment, and personnel management will be most strongly considered.

NJ School Administrator certificate or CE and a minimum of three or more years teaching experience required; experience at the Central office (Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Business Administrator or Director) or Principal level required. Direct experience with grades PK-6 preferred. Candidates should exhibit stability and demonstratable excellence in their educational career history. Salary is commensurate with experience and is subject to NJ State regulations.
