Our client just completed the buildout of an onsite Video/Photo Production Studio in a modern space designed for high-quality content creation. As we move into the next phase, we're seeking an experienced Studio / Production Manager with deep knowledge of In-House Agency (IHA) studio operations to guide us in refining and optimizing our setup.
Role Overview:
This is a consulting/managerial hybrid role focused on assessing our current studio buildout and helping us complete and elevate it into a fully functional In-House Agency-grade operation. You'll provide strategic and hands-on guidance on lighting design, gear selection and procurement, studio workflows, and long-term equipment maintenance, ensuring the space meets industry standards for video production excellence.
Our client's studio is in Chicago, IL and onsite visits are required. Duration is dependent on what this consultant feels is necessary to get the In-House Agency studio off the ground.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate current studio buildout and recommend improvements for IHA-level operation
- Consult on studio lighting design, including layout, fixtures, and integration
- Advise on video/audio gear, camera systems, switching, and recording setups
- Develop studio management systems: inventory, equipment maintenance, workflow protocols
- Implement best practices for studio operation, safety, and long-term sustainability
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand production goals and align technical solutions accordingly
- Train internal team members on equipment use and studio processes
- Create documentation for studio procedures and maintenance schedules
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working with an in-house agency or content studio (photo/video).
- Subject Matter Expert level knowledge of studio equipment to guide the selection, procurement, and maintenance of cameras, lighting, sound, etc.
- Knowledgeable of studio workflows to guide processes to optimize productivity and effectiveness.
