Project Introduction
9th Way Insignia is looking for a Senior IT Support Specialist to join our team supporting the Department of Transportation’s Enterprise IT Shared Services program. The team supports the Office of the Chief Information Officer in developing and implementing an enterprise IT infrastructure and common operating environment across DOT.
Professional Level
The Senior IT Support Specialist aligns with the Level 3 Senior Consultant professional level. A Senior Consultant completes tasks and projects of moderate scope and complexity. A Senior Consultant exercises the best judgement and problem-solving skills within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action to execute assignments. Senior Consultant will also provide guidance and/or lead on tasks/projects.

Responsibilities
- Storage System Management
- Configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise storage systems including SAN, NAS, and Direct Attached Storage (DAS).
- Manage storage provisioning (e.g., LUN creation, volume management, capacity planning).
- Monitor health and performance metrics across storage environments.
- Data Protection and Disaster Recovery
- Perform regular system backups and execute disaster recovery procedures.
- Ensure data integrity and availability across backup and recovery systems.
- IPv6 Configuration and Management
- Configure storage infrastructure for IPv6 compatibility alongside IPv4.
- Troubleshoot network-related issues affecting storage performance and access.
- Daily Administration and Support
- Provide ongoing support and administration of EMC, NetApp, and enterprise backup solutions.
- Monitor and optimize storage performance; address bottlenecks and outages.
- Perform data migrations, upgrades, and hardware/software maintenance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in storage engineering and administration, including SAN and NAS systems.
- Proven experience with EMC and NetApp storage solutions and enterprise backup systems.
- Strong understanding of storage monitoring tools, backup technologies, and disaster recovery planning.
- Proficiency in provisioning and managing storage capacity.
- Must hold one of the following certifications (or equivalent):
- EMC Certified Storage Administrator
- NetApp Certified Data Administrator
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with IPv6 networking, including addressing, routing, subnetting, and network design.
- Familiarity with cloud-based storage solutions and hybrid environments.
