One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. MDA is seeking multiple Staff Systems Engineer with demonstrated ability to impact the development of new technologies to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.
What You'll Get to Do:

• Role to include responsibilities such as:
• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Develops processes by studying requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment. 
• Ensures system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements.
• Manages the vertical and horizontal technical integration throughout the product teams and program life cycle, collaborating across the MDA portfolio of programs.
• Coordinates between the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Product Team Lead(s), program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and executability of the program technical baseline.

This position is contingent on clearance.
This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/Annapolis Junction, MD.
Basic Qualifications for Staff Systems Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience, a MS degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 8 years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience in systems development, integration, test, and/or manufacturing at a systems level.
• Strong understanding of Systems of Systems engineering.
• This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.
• Active DoD TS/SCI with Poly security clearance per business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications of Staff Systems Engineer:

• Demonstrated Requirements Management from Elicitation to Verification.
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering processing from generation of an Integrated Master Plan (IMP) to Work Product Breakdown into Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for the development of complex systems of systems.
• Demonstrated Backlog Planning and Management.
• Utilizing Design to Cost (DTC), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Test tools to deliver cost-effective solutions to our customer
• Experience leading or participating in the definition and execution of Manufacturing Plans/ CDRLs, MRA (Manufacturing Readiness Assessments) and MRL's (Manufacturing Readiness Level) per DoD customer requirements. 
• Previous experience on EMD projects.

Salary Range: $163,200.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
