Position Summary
This position is responsible and accountable for maintenance of financial records in accordance with company policy, GAAP, state, and federal tax regulations. This includes the following areas of responsibility: reconciliation of various general ledger accounts in conjunction with the month-end close, maintenance and booking of prepaid expense and prepaid insurance, intercompany reconciliation and related intercompany accounting, assisting with the monthly close process, internal and external reporting as requested, maintaining and monitoring receivables and escheat accounts, and other areas of responsibility as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor.
This position directly interfaces with department managers and other employees within the company, external auditors, other external vendors/service providers, and other Finance personnel.
Essential Functions and Duties
- Manage, maintain, and reconcile the prepaid insurance and prepaid expense accounts.
- Book appropriate entries related to prepaid insurance, prepaid expenses, and other receivables,
- Manage, maintain, and reconcile the Intercompany accounts.
- Manage accounts placed on Escheat and make necessary reporting according to state policies.
- Process financial close duties in a timely and accurate manner (including completion of all assigned balance sheet account reconciliations).
- Provide various other financial analysis and reporting as requested by the Accounting Supervisor.
- Support financial audit activities and ensure that all the data requested is reasonable and provided promptly.
- Document internal control policies and procedures in areas of responsibility. Assist the Accounting Supervisor, Assistant Controller and Controller with the implementation of various new internal control policies and procedures.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or a related field of study or four (4) years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge:
- Strong computer skills and experience working with a fully integrated accounting system (preferably SAP), plus strong Microsoft Office experience is required.
Required Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years [nine (9) for non-degreed candidates] of relevant accounting and/or bookkeeping experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in an accounting firm and/or company with commercial sales of more than $250 million is desired.
- Experience within the healthcare industry is a plus.

Physical requirements
Vision, hearing, speech, movements require the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for long periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The employee occasionally lifts to 20 lbs. and occasionally kneels and bends. Working conditions include normal office setting.
