We are one of the State's leading firms for the advancement and construction of highways, roads, bridges, landfills, site development and environmental projects. We have also undertaken a variety of "specialty" projects over the years, from airports to bridges and bike paths.

As a result of continued company growth, we are looking to add a dynamic Assistant Controller to join our Accounting Department. This is a highly visible role with great potential for growth. The qualified individual will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, organized, detailed oriented, reliable, trustworthy and willing to continuously learn.

The Assistant Controller will work with the Controller to:

Oversee day-to-day activities of small accounting team
Manage operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy
Ensure accurate and timely reporting and submissions
Create and manage various financial schedules
Weekly and monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts
Work on month-end close, reporting and various filing requirements
Weekly and monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts
Participate in billing & cash flow forecasting
Prepare relevant reports for management as needed
Support the accounting team to ensure our high standards for deliverables to internal and external stakeholders are met.

Requirements:

Self-motivated and detailed oriented
Strong organizational and time management skills
Must meet strict deadlines
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business
Minimum five years of full-cycle accounting experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Sage 300/Timberline software experience a plus
Construction industry experience a plus
