Job Description:
Apex has an immediate need for a Project Manager who will be responsible for
- leading IT application upgrades and implementations in a global enterprise
- building a strong project schedule with the right resource mix;
- managing the schedule, risks & budgets; and
- applying the right Project Management processes and procedures throughout the entire life cycle.
This person will be working at the direction of a Senior Project Managers on discovery and delivery of projects small to moderate in size, scope, and complexity.
Key Skills
• Lead the development and implementation of the enterprise-level/key strategic project management initiatives from Discovery through Closure.
• Build a schedule that addresses all key project areas (tasks, resources, dependencies, estimates) while challenging common assumptions to deliver quality while on time, in budget and within scope.
• Able to identify when adjustments are needed to a project’s triple constraints (scope, cost, time) regardless of the PM methodology (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid) deployed.
• Identify risk/risks mitigation plan(s) and captures issues/plan, drives all necessary follow-through to minimize risks and remove blockers.
• Leverage project documentation and lessons learned to continuously improve PM processes and tools.
• Provide thought leadership and advances the project management profession while continuing to grow in knowledge of project management methodologies and leading practices.
• Develop and coach project team members so they understand what they are accountable for delivering and feel empowered to make the necessary decisions to deliver; provide adequate direction and support.
• Engage business stakeholders to apply PM principles to achieve their objectives and business drivers.
• Leverage organizational dynamics to influence outcomes through leadership and communication skills.
• Engage appropriate stakeholders in risk identification and mitigation strategies.
Additional Requirements
• Apply project management leadership principles to drive project progress, resolve conflicts between stakeholder groups, and pro-actively manage issue avoidance and resolution.
• Ability to mentor and train other project managers and analysts to build a strong collaborative environment and advance the value realized from project management.
• Delivers on project objectives and metrics (Waterfall) or product goals (Agile) while maintaining stakeholder satisfaction and apply a consistent cycle of improvements through retrospectives.
• Bachelors degree in Business, Computer or Information Science
• Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance or Supply Chain +
• PMP Certification +
• ScrumMaster Certification +
• 10 years of experience, with a proven history of scheduling, managing, leading, and delivering projects from inception to close; demonstrated ability to identify and motivate resources, with the right skillset, to deliver the project scope
