Who You'll Work With:

The AB SMA Specialist will be instrumental in driving the future growth of AB's Separately Managed Accounts business, which has over $100B in assets under management. AB offers a range of custom solutions tailored to the needs of Financial Advisors and Clients. The SMA Specialist will provide exceptional service across the platform, ensuring ease of doing business and delivering an outstanding advisor experience.

To succeed in this role, you will need to:

Develop a deep understanding of AB's custom suite of SMAs, including Tax-Exempt and Taxable Fixed Income, Active Equity, Direct Indexing, Balanced SMA solutions and tax overlays and rebalancing.

Collaborate with Sales to represent AB SMA capabilities to advisors and facilitate complex transitions.

Deliver white glove service both as a partner to our SMA Servicing team and proactively to Sales for large relationships.

Work with Business Development, Sales, Portfolio Management, Technology & Operations to ideate and develop our next generation of digital engagement tools across SMA prospecting, onboarding and client service.

What You’ll Do:

This position requires a deep understanding of investment solutions, financial markets and exceptional client relationship management skills. Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the go-to resource for in-depth knowledge of SMA-specific vehicles and processes, including tax management overlays, transition analysis, direct indexing, and rebalancing.

  • Collaborate with Sales to provide white-glove, real-time service for client inquiries on investment portfolios, and manage complex portfolio transitions as the primary point of contact for large advisor or firm onboarding.

  • Develop and implement a proactive advisor engagement model to deliver insights across advisor portfolios and overall books of business, particularly for our largest relationships.

  • Execute projects for the SMA business including design of next-gen client engagement tools and enhanced client support models.

  • Lead external meetings where expertise in tax, transitions or SMA vehicle are required as well as internal training on SMA specific topics.

  • Develop SMA education tools and content to assist advisors who are new to SMAs in understanding the benefits and use cases within their practice.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant financial services and sales experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (MBA, CFA, CIMA, CFP a plus)

  • Strong understanding of asset management, wealth advisory markets and SMAs/models

  • Excellent project management skills and collaboration across internal stakeholders

  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight time constraints

  • Sales acumen and retail distribution experience preferred

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent listening and profiling skills
