Full Job Description
OSWEGO COUNTY SHIFT SUPERVISOR (ENERGY RECOVERY FACILITY) The Oswego County Energy Recovery Facility has an immediate opening for a Shift Supervisor responsible for planning and supervising the work of personnel on an assigned shift engaged in operating plant machinery and loading waste for incineration to produce high pressure steam for heat and electrical power generation. Qualifications: Possession of a bachelor's degree in physical science or engineering and three (3) years of experience in an occupation concerned with the design, start-up, operation, or maintenance of engines, boilers, turbines, air compressors, motors, generators, conveying equipment, or their related auxiliaries which supply power, heating, or cooling service to an industrial, maritime, or commercial process or facility, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR Completion of 60 semester credit hours in advanced mathematics, chemistry, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, material science, combustion theory or environmental, mechanical, civil, chemical or electrical engineering and three (3) years of experience as listed in above, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and three (3) years of experience operation of a solid waste combustion facility, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and five (5) years of experience as listed above, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of an appropriate level NYS driver's license. Must be certified QRO (Qualified Resource Recovery Operator) by ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) within the accreditation timeline set out by EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) in 40CFR (Codes and Federal Regulations) Part 60. Salary Range: $61,330 to $81,278 plus shift differential ($1.00/hour), guaranteed overtime (8 OT hours per pay period calculated based on hourly rate), and competitive benefit package including: overtime; health, vision, dental and life insurance; NYS Retirement; and Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
