Sr. UX Designer
Our utilities client is looking for a Sr. UX Designer to join their dynamic in-house team. This is a 40-hour a week ongoing freelance role. The Sr. UX Designer is a hybrid position that will be onsite three times a week at the client's office located in Downtown Houston.

Senior UX Designer Level Responsibilities:
- Lead and shape the overall UX strategy and direction for projects.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership in UX design, aligning design initiatives with business goals and user needs.
- Collaborate with executives, product managers, and other stakeholders to define project objectives and priorities.
- Champion user-centered design principles throughout the organization.
- Mentor and coach junior designers, fostering a culture of empathy and curiosity within the design team.
- Tackle complex design challenges and find innovative solutions.
- Leverage deep understanding of user research, interaction design, and information architecture.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of UX design efforts throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Lead the development and maintenance of design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency and scalability across products and platforms.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Seek opportunities for innovation and improvement to drive product innovation.
- Effectively communicate design concepts, rationale, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Senior UX Designer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or other related field.
- 5+ years equivalent professional experience.
- Portfolio showcasing problem-solving abilities.
- Proven experience in strategic direction and leadership in UX design, aligning design initiatives with business goals and user needs.
- Ability to leverage your deep understanding of user research, interaction design, and information architecture to create intuitive and compelling user experiences across multiple platforms and devices.
- Leadership/mentorship experience.
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
