Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join a Specialized Infrastructure Operations team within the Information Technology & Data Analytics (IT&DA) organization in Herndon, VA. This role supports a Mission Operations Portfolio by delivering and maintaining critical platforms for both commercial and government clients.

Responsibilities:

Lead system integration efforts, including hardware/software installation, configuration, and lifecycle management of servers and workstations.
Provide advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical support for delivery systems.
Participate in the design, validation, and configuration management of computing environments.
Plan and coordinate system upgrades and changes.
Manage user access and implement safeguards to ensure compliance with security requirements.
Monitor system performance and support capacity planning, backup strategies, and disaster recovery.
Mentor and train junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and team development.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree with 9+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD with 4+ years related work experience, Masters degree with 7+ years related work experience, 13 years related work experience, etc.).
Active Full Scope Polygraph.
Successfully completed a Tier 5 (T5) Investigation (formerly SSBI) within the last 5 years or enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program.
5+ years of experience as a systems administrator.
5+ years of experience working cross-functionally with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Active certifications in Cloud technologies, Information Security (INFOSEC), or related fields.
Experience with virtualization platforms such as AHV, VMware ESXi, and Hyper-V.
Familiarity with VDI infrastructure, system monitoring, security hardening, documentation (e.g., Confluence), and task tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
