We are looking for a Senior Property Accountant to join our growing organization. In this position, the Senior Property Accountant will work under the direct supervision of the Corporate Controller and is responsible for the accuracy of all postings to their allocated properties and / or entities. The Senior Property Accountant is the main point of contact for other departments and management for all financial transactions and information for their allocated properties and / or entities.
Responsibilities:
- Participate and execute tasks as per the monthly financial closing process protocol.
- Reconcile inter-company balances for allocated properties / entities
- Full-cycle bank reconciliation process for allocated properties /entities, including bank account register download, posting bank transactions and weekly / monthly bank reconciliation process
- Responsibility to resolve all balance sheet account suspense balances on a weekly basis
- Property loans: reconciliation of loan statements, post monthly payment, etc.
- Monthly working capital calculation and weekly distribution / contribution to owner
- Monthly review of all property P&L expenses, to ensure accuracy. Post reclassification journal entries as needed
- Review and post inter-company construction billings, as per capitalization protocols
- Reconcile property equity balances with owner investment GL accounts
- Prepare monthly property reporting package and report material transactions, events and financials to owner
- Support & prepare monthly / quarterly reporting requirements, as per directions from Corporate Controller
- Prepare I/E (property valuations) for each allocated property / entity on an annual basis / as needed
- Maintain/Understand Corporate Accounting Policies
- Prepare tax packages for allocated properties / entities
- Manage Fixed Assets for each allocated property / entity
- Other General Accounting & Special Projects
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
- Mandatory: 5+ years of experience in real estate property accounting
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, 10-key (Pivot tables & Yardi Voyager Commercial experience a plus)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with an emphasis on details
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform well under deadlines
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to research and resolve issues independently
- Work proficiently with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Compensation details: 75000-95000 Yearly Salary
