Our Ad Agency client is searching for a Senior Front End Developer to join their team. This Developer will drive execution across digital builds including headless sites and legacy WordPress platforms, contributing to technical architecture decisions, and play a key role in optimizing web output for web and SEO. 

Location: Virginia Beach, VA; occasional onsite for meetings 
Duration: FTE 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead front end development across client projects using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the Svelte/SvelteKit framework 
• Integrate headless CMS platforms (e.g., Sanity, Wordpress) using GraphQL or REST APIs 
• Maintain and update legacy WordPress websites as needed 
• Collaborate with designers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation of creative work 
• Ensure all sites are optimized for performance, accessibility, and SEO 
• Deploy and manage sites using modern tools like Vercel 
• Support and mentor a junior developer; help establish and evolve best practices 
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across a variety of platforms and browsers 
• Stay current with emerging technologies and bring new ideas to the table 
• Work with marketing and analytics teams to support tracking, testing, and optimization initiatives 

Qualifications

• 3+ years of front-end development experience in an agency or fast-paced environment 
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and modern front-end frameworks 
• Working knowledge of databases, API architecture, and basic server-side principles 
• Familiarity with technical SEO, schema markup, and best practices for indexability and performance 
• Experience with WordPress (including theme modification and plugin usage) 
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design 
• Version control (Git) and modern deployment workflows 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to self-manage deadlines and priorities 

Bonus:

• Experience with A/B testing, analytics integration, or marketing funnels 
• Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG) 
• Familiarity with marketing concepts like conversion optimization and landing page best practices 
• Experience working with marketing or analytics teams
