E Source is seeking an energetic and passionate business process design (BPD) consultant to join our growing People & Change delivery area. The successful candidate will shadow and support our experts with the goal of ultimately leading efforts to analyze and design business processes for utility technology and transformation projects. They’ll work with project stakeholders to determine the optimal mix of operational and technological changes to support future-state processes and lead interactive trainings with clients on the newly designed business processes.
The successful candidate will be a polished self-starter who contributes to consulting projects of all sizes and takes direction on the activities required to best satisfy the needs of our clients. They’ll contribute domain expertise across all practice areas—strategy, planning, and implementation—depending on business needs and skill sets. They’ll also contribute to direct and indirect sales activities, collaborate on proposal development, and actively contribute to internal E Source activities.

What you’ll do
- Participate in projects and develop superior work products and deliverables for clients on time and within budget.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional workshops with stakeholders to document current-state business processes, create conceptual future-state business processes, and design final future-state business processes.
- Communicate to clients how BPD activities support technology decisions and overall business requirements.
- Teach clients to use data-driven metrics to measure the success of change initiatives that engage teams and maximize change adoption and absorption by customers.
- Produce and maintain process documents using process-mapping software (like Microsoft Visio).
- Conduct end-user training and develop training materials.
- Participate in improving our business processes analysis approach, tools, and the creation of reusable BPD frameworks and artifacts.
- Analyze and prepare policy, process, and procedure improvement recommendations.
- Assist with the development of business system requirements.
- Grow and develop skills related to stakeholder engagement, change management, and general consulting.
- Research, write, and develop client deliverables, including reports, implementation plans, memoranda, presentations.
- Develop and expand knowledge and understanding related to the electric, water, and gas utility industries with specific attention to advanced metering and smart utility technologies.
- Seek opportunities to expand your contributions across project execution and sales to existing and potential new clients.
- Possess a positive attitude, act with openness and integrity, and freely contribute to team and client success.
What will make you a good fit
- 4–8 years of consulting experience or as an industry specialist with strong interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated utility sector or skill area expertise preferred.
- Exceptional presentation, writing, and document preparation skills.
- Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- The willingness and ability to travel up to 80% to client sites.
- Fluent in MS Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Comfortable leading virtual, remote meetings using MS Teams or similar video conferencing technology.
Additional differentiators
- Change management experience, or a desire to work on organizational change management efforts.
- Prior consulting or professional services experience.
- Experience with technology deployments and upgrades.
- A master’s degree in business administration or related field is a plus.

The budgeted salary for this position is $70,000–$96,000 USD + annual bonus up to 10%. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
This role will be 100% remote with requirement to travel to client locations as needed.
