Job Summary
The Analyst, Trading Operations-Ld/Sr will be responsible to lead a coordinated effort across various groups within the company for the modeling and capture of structured deals. The over-all objective is to project manage the placement of proper deal capture elements within AR systems to achieve proper tracking and reporting of physical, financial, and environmental attributes of the transaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute a process for leading a team of key stakeholders and project managing the accurate and timely capture of structured deals in Aligne and, when necessary WebTrader.
- Work closely with structured deal originators to learn the intended strategy and outcome of the deal and with Structure analysts to understand how the deal was valued.
- Read deal contracts to better understand all aspects of a deal and, specifically, what was and wasn’t agreed to.
- Coordinate with company stakeholders to ensure their concerns are met and the deal is accurately represented in Aligne and WebTrader and will flow through these systems seamlessly as the deal evolves and rolls off over time. Company stakeholders may include but aren’t limited to Origination, Front Office, Mid-Office including Settlements, Confirmations and regulatory reporting, Asset Management, IT, Accounting, Legal, Compliance, Contract Administration, Structure, and Risk Management.
- In addition to ensuring new deals are entered into the system as well as possible, review old deal entries for accuracy and revise where needed.
- With assistance of deal originators, take a lead role in educating others on the operational, financial, and environmental requirements of structured deals.
- Organize group and individual meetings and provide leadership in recommending innovative and creative thought around solutions to difficult problems, particularly those stemming from Aligne and WebTrader limitations.
- As a member of the Infrastructure and Analytics team, utilize time effectively by performing other duties as outlined by the Manager of Infrastructure and Analytics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with front, mid, or back-office energy trading/risk management/energy settlement systems.
- Knowledge of Avangrid energy management systems — ideally Webtrader and Aligne
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated project management experience.
- Strong prioritization and multi-tasking skills with the ability to organize, lead, and inspire innovation and creativity in others.
- Ability to foster and participate in a productive team environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, and internal customers.
- Effectively provides and receives information orally in individual and group situations. Written expression is clear, concise, and conveys the desired message.
- Ability to analyze project risks and proactively identify solutions with a flexible, creative, and solution-focused outlook on problem solving.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and provide regular status reports to senior management.
