The Department of Pathology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC)
and Case Western Reserve University is seeking an experienced academic
hematopathologist to lead the Section of Hematopathology within the Division of Clinical
Pathology. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of our hematopathology
diagnostic services, will support and oversee the educational and research missions of the
Section, and will mentor the faculty of the Section to success in these missions.
The Section of Hematopathology provides a full range of state-of-the-art diagnostic
services to UHCMC, Seidman Cancer Center, Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and
other hospitals in the UH network. The Section includes the hematology laboratory, bone
marrow and lymph node diagnostic services, and flow cytometry. Faculty members are
active in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows and engage in clinical and
translational research activities. For physician-scientist candidates with potential for
competitive externally funded laboratory research programs, appropriate laboratory space
and start-up package commitments will be provided. The Department of Pathology is highly
ranked nationally in NIH funding, and the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center is in the top
tier of comprehensive cancer centers.
Candidates must hold an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree, be board-certified/eligible in
Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology with fellowship training and/or specialty expertise in
hematopathology, and be qualified for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Ohio.
