Search Engine Optimization Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced SEO Specialist to join our embedded contractor team supporting a global pharmaceutical client. This role will focus primarily on their flagship website (pharma products with some involvement in global affiliate sites as they launch throughout 2026. You will work closely with internal SEO leads and cross-functional teams to optimize site performance, implement technical SEO best practices, and ensure a unified, patient-focused experience across all web properties.
Location: Remote
Start Date: Mid/Late January 2026
Duration: Full-time, 40 hours/week through December 31, 2026 with potential to extend
Key Responsibilities
- Website Optimization & Technical SEO
- Conduct regular technical audits to identify and resolve issues (404 errors, broken links, crawlability).
- Implement and enhance schema markup for improved visibility and rich results.
- Review and optimize XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and canonical tags.
- Ensure compliance with Core Web Vitals and site performance standards.
- Content & Metadata
- Partner with brand teams to optimize on-page elements (titles, meta descriptions, FAQs, snippets).
- Support foundational SEO for new and updated site launches, aligning with unified experience goals.
- Drive keyword research and search behavior analysis to inform URL structures and metadata.
- Strategic SEO Initiatives
- Collaborate on product roadmap timing and workload orchestration across multiple sites.
- Assist in backlog cleanup and discovery projects for technical housekeeping.
- Explore Generative AI Optimization (GenAI, GEO, AEO) strategies to improve visibility in AI-driven search experiences.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with development, brand, and compliance teams to ensure SEO changes pass MLR review and QA.
- Communicate with 1520 stakeholders daily across multiple projects.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience with large-scale websites (enterprise or global brands preferred).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong technical SEO foundation, including:
- Schema markup creation and implementation.
- XML sitemap and robots.txt evaluation.
- Tagging (Hreflang, canonical, header tags).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience optimizing for regulated environments (pharma or healthcare a plus).
- Familiarity with Generative AI search trends and strategies for AI Overviews and ChatGPT visibility.
- Global/international SEO experience.
- People management or team coordination experience.
- Tools: Lumar, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Conductor.
