Job Description:
Join a dynamic team supporting innovative defense projects that power mission-critical communications and secure networking solutions. We’re looking for a seasoned Systems & Network Engineer to design, build, and support cutting-edge SDN capabilities for the Department of Defense.
What You’ll Do:
- Design network topologies and templates based on system requirements
- Develop and implement scalable, software-defined networking (SDN) solutions
- Support all phases of the system development life cycle (planning, design, implementation, and sustainment)
- Produce technical documentation including network configuration, troubleshooting guides, and system traceability artifacts
- Engineer WAN solutions with emphasis on security, performance, and scalability
- Contribute to technical strategy and implementation of SD-WAN, NSX-T, and other SDN technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Navy or DoD programs
What You Bring:
- U.S. Citizenship and a DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain an interim
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, or 6+ years of equivalent DoD systems engineering experience
- 4+ years of network engineering experience in a DoD environment
- 3+ years developing technical documentation
- Familiarity with Cisco ISE and other Cisco SDN components
- Experience with Cisco and Palo Alto network devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience restoring network/system outages
- Working knowledge of network security principles and access control models (including multicast)
- Proficiency with MS Visio and documentation tools
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Navy Tactical Networks
- RF communication familiarity (MILSATCOM/COMSATCOM)
- Hands-on experience with SDN technologies: Cisco, Juniper, NSX-T, SD-WAN, or open-source solutions
- Network automation tools (Python, Ansible, NETCONF/RESTCONF)
- Modeling with JSON, YAML, or YANG
- Familiarity with DevSecOps or NetDevOps for enterprise-scale solutions
- Active TS/SCI Clearance or interest in obtaining
Certifications (Required):
- IAT Level II Security Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, GSEC, CySA+, SCCP)
