Position Summary:
Acts as primary salesperson for walk-in customer traffic. Interacting with customers to understand their needs and recommending product solutions. Process orders, receive payments, and assist customer with delivery or pick-up process.
Position Summary:
Work time is 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday thru Friday. Every other Saturday until noon. Hourly pay, with monthly commission.
Position Responsibilities:
* Greet and assist customers at the sales counter, offering guidance on product selection and providing information on promotions and discounts.
* Develop a deep understanding of our product range, including lumber, building materials, hardware, and related products, to effectively answer customer inquiries.
* Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system, handling cash, credit card, and other payment methods.
* Assist customers in placing orders for special order products, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
* Resolve customer issues and concerns promptly, ensuring a positive and satisfying experience.
* Work closely with other team members, including warehouse staff, to ensure a smooth and coordinated operation.
* All other duties as needed or assigned.
Education/Formal Training:
* High School Diploma/GED required. Associate degree or higher is preferred.
Work Experience/Skills:
* Experience in sales, preferably in the lumber & building materials industry. Ability to operate a forklift.
Physical Demands:
* Normal office working conditions / warehouse / showroom floor / yard. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
