Serve as a thought leader and subject matter expert in the delivery of complex and comprehensive risk reporting, data, business intelligence, and related services. Role is primarily aligned to support stakeholders, needs, and initiatives within the Risk Management Organization, but can also support other areas of Truist.

This position will sit on-site 4 days a week, 1 day remote.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design, implement, and execute highly complex recurring or ad hoc reports, analyses, data, system-related, or operational tasks in accordance with departmental processes and controls.

2. Investigate and research unexplained variations in reports, data, systems, etc. Explain results of reports and research to department management and other stakeholders.

3. Develop and administer controls to ensure the integrity of departmental process. Evaluate and recommend improvements to departmental processes.

4. Assist with development of departmental documentation, particularly for highly complex and technical activities.

5. Serve as a consultative resource and subject matter expert on risk reporting, data, system, or related issues. Engage with stakeholders to identify business objectives and scope solution requirements.

6. Plan and manage complex projects, such as development of new or modified reporting in response to process, system, regulatory, or organizational changes.

7. Mentor less experienced teammates to build their own technical expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent

2. 8+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

3. In-depth and broad knowledge within own professional discipline. Solid understanding of key business processes and strategies.

4. Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and an understanding of the market and regulatory factors that shape the industry.

5. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audiences. Ability to influence others to adopt a new perspective and handle interpersonal issues with tact and diplomacy.

6. Ability to exercise judgment and sophisticated skills in solving complex technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of business objectives and priorities.

7. Ability to lead projects of significant complexity and risk exposure. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 10+ years of reporting experience

2. Previous experience with the Archer GRC solution that includes, but is not limited to: effective global report building, writing complex SQL queries to produce meaningful reports, and creating robust Tableau visualizations to produce
meaningful insights

3. Advanced skills in data wrangling, data engineering, data science, or related areas.

4. Strong experience with Python including but not limited to the following libraries/packages: DuckDB, Pandas, Polars, Python-PPTX and openpyxl.

5. Strong experience with SQL including, but not limited to: common table expressions, window functions, complex nested queries, joins, filters and groupings.

6. Strong experience with Tableau, including but not limited to: Level of Detail expressions, combo charts with multiple measures, complex but aesthetically-pleasing visuals, stories, drill-down capabilities, experience with publishing dashboards to a Tableau server.

7. Strong experience with Microsoft Excel (e.g., Power Query) and Microsoft Access (e.g., queries and complex reports). Experience with other technologies such as SAS, PowerBI and GitLab.
