Our global industrial interiors client is looking for a conceptual Research & Development (R&D) Product Designer to join their team FULL-TIME!
This role requires 100% onsite presence at the client's office in Grand Prairie. As part of a growing, design-forward team, the R&D Product Designer will concept and prototype innovative leather offerings for clients in the aviation, yachting, classic car restoration and hospitality industries.
This is a unique opportunity for a junior-level designer who thrives on experimentation, creativity, and bold thinking. Whether your background is in product design, interior design, or somewhere in between, we want someone who's ready to explore, prototype, push boundaries and learn.
R&D Product Designer Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a small, innovative team to conceptualize and develop new design ideas
- Independently work defined projects end to end
- Explore both product and interior design concepts -residential, commercial, or hybrid
- Create prototypes and visualizations that are both imaginative and feasible
- Conduct research and apply design-thinking methodology to your process
- Present your ideas clearly through sketches, mockups, and storytelling
- Embrace experimentation and not be afraid to fail and continually learn
R&D Product Designer Requirements
- Junior-level experience preferred, we're looking for someone moldable and unboxed
- A creative, proactive mindset with a passion for design exploration
- Background in product design, interior design, related creative field or relevant spec or professional work
- Strong portfolio that shows / explains your design-thinking, not just polished outcomes
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own time
- Open to learning new tools, trends, and software (client is flexible on what you use)
- Local to Dallas or able to work 100% on-site
- Willingness to take risks, try new processes, and grow through feedback
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
