Who We Are:
SwRI Mission and Science Operations group in Boulder, Colorado. We are currently flying 11 spacecraft in mission operations (PUNCH and CYGNSS), have two missions in development (QuickSounder, CubIXXS), have three commercial lunar lander payloads (LITMIS, DIMPLE, Mini-FND), and are organizing science operations for NASA planetary missions Lucy and New Horizons. We are looking for multi-talented individuals that are looking for a fast moving, agile career in Ground Systems, Mission Operations, Science Operations and CubeSat and Instrument Development.
Objectives of this Role:
- Design automated ground software to coordinate ground and spacecraft activities.
- Contribute software expertise to instrument developments, CubeSats.
- Design MOC standard operating procedures uniquely tailored to each mission.
- Build, merge, review command loads for mission operations. Develop and provide review products, track action items, change requests, and sequence reviews from various teams
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Develop tools for mission operations to help with automation and efficiency.
- Attend weekly planning and coordination meetings with Spacecraft design team, Science Operations, and Mission Operations.
- Support and track resolution of Problem Reports.
- Support requirements verification by developing test procedures and closing out verification artifacts.
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelors or a Masters degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electrical Engineering degree or related degree field with relevant AI experience
- 3+ years: Experience with Python and working in Linux or Unix environment. Knowledge of computing libraries such as Pandas, Astropy, etc. is a plus.
- Knowledge of Linux networking is a plus.
- Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control using Git.
- Experience interacting with and interpreting binary data from low-level hardware interfaces and subsystems.
