General Summary

The Reliability Technician works with Equipment Technician, Process Engineering and Management to maximize throughput and OEE while minimizing cycle time and equipment downtime. Maintain environmental controls in the work area (temperature, humidity, particle counts, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Performs more complex equipment setups that other operators may not be qualified to perform.
  • Operates production equipment as time and production needs arise.
  • Monitors throughput and cycle time in the area to ensure these goals are met.
  • Maintains the quality of the work being performed in the area.
  • Addresses equipment downtime issues with the appropriate parties (Equipment Technician, Process Engineering, Management, etc.) to maximize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Coordinates and performs training for new employees and sets up and maintains employee training records.
  • Monitors the environment of the work area (temperature, humidity, particle counts, etc.) and ensure compliance to specifications.
  • Coordinates housekeeping activities to maintain a safe, clean work environment, ensuring the maintenance of adequate stock of consumables and supplies that are required in the area.
  • Scheduled maintenance of various equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a similar industry.
  • Basic understanding of how to read a Statistical Process Control (SPC) chart.
  • Proven skills:
    1. Strong work ethic
    2. Attention to detail
    3. Ability to direct the work of others
    4. Excellent visual acuity
    5. Proficiency with computers and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
    6. Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks
    7. Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently
    8. Ability to learn to operate new tools with minimal training
    9. Ability to process documents and keep meticulous records
    10. Ability to solve problems independently and with others
    11. Ability to organize and maintain a safe and clean workplace
    12. A high degree of hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity is required (must be able to manipulate small, delicate samples with small tweezers while observing under a microscope)
    13. Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9120 or TS16949 is a plus.
