Quality Engineers are core delivery team members responsible for the validation of functional and non-functional requirements implemented by a team. They are responsible for decomposing the functional and technical requirements created by Product Owners and Systems Analysts into automation code and test scripts. Quality Engineers raise defects as issues are identified and support the remediation process with teams.

ROLE

● Defines the testing strategy and approach to validate new or enhanced functionality implemented by teams.

● Determines test dependencies including QA test environment, QA tools, training, build and deployment plans, intra-team dependencies, and communication processes.

● Collaborates with team members to decompose functional and non-functional requirements into test scripts and scenarios.

● Identifies risks impacting the timely delivery of a given product and collaborates with team members to prepare mitigation strategies.

● Designs, develops, and executes manual automated software test strategies, plans, and test cases.

● Designs, codes, and documents automated test cases within the defined framework to satisfy business requirements and client/project expectations using primarily Selenium with Java.

● Analyzes and determines test dependencies including QA environment, QA tools, training, build and deployment plans, and communication processes.

● Participates in grooming, planning, and retrospective meetings.

● Creates defects with detailed information pertaining to the failed test case/scenario with supporting documentation (screenshots, environment details, log files, etc.).

● Develops and communicates accurate estimates based as requested by the project/management team.

● Manages the remediation of defects raised throughout the development lifecycle and creates supporting quality reports that are shared with stakeholders.

● Troubleshoots test runs and environments. Identifies and resolves problems.

● Maintains the automated testing suite and accompanying framework for a given product.

● Executes automated test scripts, researches test run failures, and reports defects and results.

REQUIRED

● 5+ years in QA domain designing, developing, and executing both manual/automated tests.

● 5+ years of experience creating effective robust automation testing using Selenium or similar.

● Recent development experience in Java (or similar).

● Knowledge and understanding of typical multi-tier application architecture (presentation, service, data).

● Experience with Microsoft SQL or similar relational database.

● Knowledge of XML/JSON and web-based SOAP/RESTful services.

● Desire to be an active participant of a team willing to continually self-assess and improve.

● Self-driven continuous learning mindset.

● Experience working in a Scrum or other Agile environment.

● Inventive problem-solver.

Recommended

● Experience in API testing or other back-end testing.

● Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps.

● Experience in building and/or maintaining automated test infrastructure.

● Experience in the development of test tools.

● Familiarity with Service Oriented/Microservices Architectures.

● Mobile, device specific, and responsive web experience.

● Working knowledge of the following: Apache, TFS, IntelliJ, Maven, Git, Junit, Jenkins, Splunk, SOAPUI, Lambdatest.

● Accessibility testing experience.

● Travel industry technology knowledge, such as third-party data feeds from hotels, theme parks, rental car organizations, and Global Distribution System (GDS).

● Proficient in Microsoft Workspace applications, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Pay Ranges:

Level 2 - $105,000 - $135,000

Level 3 - $130,000 - $160,000
