Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager / Estimator to join our heavy construction team. This dual-role position is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and managing projects from bid award through completion. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in heavy civil construction—including earthwork, utilities, grading, and paving—and possess strong leadership and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Estimating:
· Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
· Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
· Prepare and submit bid packages in a timely and accurate manner.
· Identify risk factors, review bid documents, and assess potential profitability.
· Maintain historical cost data and assist in pricing strategy.
Project Management:
· Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of construction projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
· Develop project schedules and coordinate with crews, subcontractors, and suppliers.
· Monitor field progress and resolve any construction or contractual issues.
· Track and control construction costs against the project budget.
· Maintain communication with clients, engineers, and inspectors to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
· Manage change orders, RFIs, and documentation in accordance with contract requirements.

Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in estimating and project management in heavy construction.
· Proven knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and budgeting.
· Proficiency in construction management and estimating software (e.g., HCSS, HeavyBid, Foundation Software.
· Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
· Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical documents.
· OSHA certification and a valid driver’s license preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is a plus but not required.
