Volt is immediately hiring a Quality Assurance Technician for a well-known manufacturer in Albuquerque, NM.

As a Quality Assurance Technician you will:

  • Perform product inspections to identify sub-standard completion of:
  • Welds on steel structures in-process and post blast in fabrication shop.
  • Machined parts
  • Control systems and sub-components for proper configuration and operation
  • Interior and exterior paint on prime products
  • Vendor parts
  • Perform and assist to improve the incoming material inspection process.
  • Work with Product Support personnel to identify, solve and prevent warranty issues.
  • Introduce new QC technologies.
  • Perform product testing, which may include operating heavy equipment.
  • Communicate and resolve quality issues with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Lead/assist other inspection personnel.
Quality Assurance Tech candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • Must have a minimum of five years' experience in a quality role.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand drawing tolerances.
  • Ability to measure parts and assemblies using calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Capable of producing results with cross functional groups.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Good conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to stay objective when personalities present challenges.
  • Physically capable of lifting 30lbs and capable of standing for long periods of time.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe and any ERP system.
  • CWI (Certified Weld Inspector).
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with ISO implementation and compliance is a big plus.
  • Experience with flux-core/ MIG welding.
  • Experience with mining and construction equipment.
The schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:00am- 4:30 pm.

Pay for this position is $20-$25/hr. DOE

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
