WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Manage assigned projects throughout the entire Project Management Lifecycle which includes working with clients to understand business goals; suggesting technical and non-technical solutions to meet those needs; and gathering and documenting requirements. Projects may consist of multiple Agile teams and require integration with other activities outside the scope of the Agile teams.
- Support the Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and supporting project governance
- Research and evaluate 3rd party software offerings; write RFPs; conduct RFP process in collaboration with Procurement.
- Write functional specifications and prepare wireframes for custom software development projects. Manage custom software development contracts including bidding process, resource/contractor management, and deliverable management.
- Apply project management tools and methodologies (both Agile and traditional) to each part of the Project Management Lifecycle.
- Meet with stakeholders and sponsors to discuss and validate business cases, gather facts for establishing and gaining agreement on project charters, clarifying project directives, scopes, deliverables, budgets, and timelines.
- Develop project charters, business specifications, business workflows, schedules, risk assessments, communication plans, status updates, testing plans and other project documents. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Execute project work plans; manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
- Assemble and manage a project team of diverse resources and coordinate this team throughout the project.
- Gather and analyze project metrics to evaluate project performance and to manage issues, risk, and changes of scope.
- Update the Director, PMO, and others about project status on a regular basis.
- Support other PMO staff with documentation, reports, project information system updates, and portfolio management processes. Work with PMO staff on new project requests and the project intake process.
- Support the Director, PMO, with project portfolio planning and management activities.
- Stay up to date on project management industry standards and share regularly with PMO colleagues.
- Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a project manager role
Demonstrated experience writing functional specifications, managing resources, and managing deliverables for custom software development projects.
Demonstrated experience in assembling a diverse cross-functional project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
Must have a strong understanding and implementation of the Project Management Life Cycle and industry-accepted PM methodology.
Must have a strong understanding of internet-based applications and tools.
Must have superior verbal and written communications skills.
Excellent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
Excellent innovation capabilities and the ability to think outside box.
Ability to be effective and confident with presentations to multiple levels of an organization.
Ability to lead and strategize with project participants, leaders, and decision makers to ensure strategic and effective decision making.

Must have a general understanding of complex IT enterprises and effectiveness with advising others on multiple levels on enterprise applications, functionality, effectiveness, and efficiency; as well as the software development lifecycle.

Must have advanced-level MS Office suite skills and widely-used PM computer-based tools ability (MS Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel, etc.)
HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK
Hybrid schedule which requires work onsite as needed (meetings that are required in person or a go-live on a system that requires onsite presence); the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE
- MBA preferred
- PMP Certification is preferred
- Must be familiar with Agile and Scrum ceremonies
- Experience with outsourced resources (domestic or international) a plus
