The Governing Board of the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) announces the initiation of the search
and consultation process to select the President of the University of Puerto Rico.
The Board wishes that this process to be characterized by mutual communication between the Board,
as the appointing authority, and the consulted community. Therefore, a broad and transparent
dialogue will take place to identify suitable candidates and, thus, conduct a streamlined and efficient
consultation process.
Applications should be submitted in the form of a letter stating the persons intent to apply and
describing relevant experience and interest in the position. The applicant must also submit the
following together with the application letter:
a) A curriculum vitae detailing the skills and achievements showing compliance with the
description of the President of the University.
b) An academic-administrative work plan with a broad vision of the University and its mission, in
line with the Strategic Plan and current Fiscal Plan, actions, and any other requirement.
c) Five references from individuals other than Board members, providing their titles or degrees,
addresses, telephone numbers, and emails.
d) Five letters of recommendation, providing the titles or degrees, addresses, telephone numbers and
emails of such individuals.

No. 91 (2024-2025) of the Board, which governs the process and lays down the profile of the UPR
President, as well as the candidates to be considered, will be available through the following link:

All applicants must submit a complete application on or before March 24, 2025.
The candidate must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
Applications should be addressed to the Governing Board Committee for the Search
and Consultation of the UPR President. A hard copy or a digital copy of the application must
be submitted through any of the options:
