Community Hospitals – University Health | San Antonio, TX

University Health is significantly enhancing healthcare access on San Antonio’s South Side with the development of the University Health Palo Alto Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the needs of our rapidly growing community.

The hospital will provide a full range of medical services, including a 24/7 emergency department, labor and delivery unit, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), operating rooms, radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy services.

The University Health Palo Alto Hospital is scheduled to open in 2027, representing a significant investment in the health and well-being of San Antonio’s South Side residents. This development highlights University Health’s commitment to expanding access to high-quality, compassionate care across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead with Vision: Build and inspire a high-performing executive leadership team dedicated to excellence in patient care and operational performance.
  • Physician Collaboration: Foster a culture of trust, transparency, and collaboration with medical staff, strengthening ties between physicians, employees, and leadership.
  • Culture Builder: Promote a shared mission and purpose across all departments and teams, ensuring cohesive efforts toward superior patient outcomes.
  • Community Engagement: Serve as a visible and engaged leader in the community—advocating for the hospital, shaping public awareness of healthcare issues, and cultivating partnerships.
  • Talent Acquisition & Retention: Attract, recruit, and retain outstanding physician leaders and clinical professionals.
  • Strategic Communicator: Champion clear and consistent communication across all levels of the organization to promote alignment and engagement.
  • Financial Leadership: Leverage strong business and financial acumen to guide complex decisions and ensure long-term organizational sustainability in a competitive healthcare environment.
  • Innovative Strategist: Develop and execute progressive strategies that position the hospitals for long-term growth and success.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 10–15 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, with proven success managing complex, diverse healthcare operations in a community-based setting.
