Full Job Description
1. ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS
- Record Readings of Gas- Oil -Electric-Water-Usage of Daily Operation
- Make A Visual Inspection of the Complete Boiler House and Its Auxiliaries
- Fire System Pumps and Controls
- Induced Draft Fans
- Feed Water and Da Tank
- IOL Pumps and Heaters
- Air Compressors
- Service Water Pumps
- Check Operation of Recorders
- Overhead Lighting and Boiler Lights
- Do Blow Downs on the Boiler
- Manually Do Safety Checks on Boilers Low Water Cut-Off
- Gather Water Samples for Testing
- Boiler Water
- Condensate
- Feed Water
- Softener Water
- Filter Water
- River Water
- Perform Test Record Results and Make Necessary Chemical Adjustments
- Monitor Water Levels in the Boiler
- Monitor the Conductivity of Boilers
- Continuous Blowdown Adjustments
- Prepare Boilers for Annual Inspections
- Backwash Filters and Softeners
- Recharge Brine Tanks
- Check Dry Valves and A.E.D
- Repair or Replace Leaking Pipes or Pump Packing
- Maks Sure Steam Traps Are Working
- Make Sure All Gas and Oil Systems Are Working Properly
- Visual Inspection of Boiler House Equipment Outside the Boiler House including but not limited to:
- Oil Tank
- Steam lines
- Diesel Pump House
- Coordinate Steam Usage and Steam Demand Between the Boiler House and Production
- Do Emergency Maintenance in the Plant at Night When the Plant is Down
- Monitor the Front Gate and Phone
- Monitor Fire Alarms and Make Proper Alerts
- Monitor Waste Water Tank and Pump House
- Monitor River Water Levels During Severe Storms and Be Ready to Pull Motors If Necessary
- Start Boilers and Have Steam Ready for Production on Monday Mornings
- Assist Security Guards When Necessary (Make Rounds Sometimes)
- Assist With Deliveries When the Plant Is Down
- TOOLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB TASKS
- Hand tools, power tools, and test instruments
3. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- The employee’s work may entail extended standing, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, working at elevated levels, lifting up to 50 lbs. (occasionally more), etc.
4. OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB
- Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing or factory environment
- First-Grade Engineer
- Communication skills: The employee must have strong oral and written communication skills to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong oral and written communication skills are also necessary for reporting and correspondence.
- Interpersonal skills: Employees must have strong interpersonal skills to communicate and build relationships with other employees, supervisors, managers, customers, and non-company concerns.
