Position Summary
The Pharmacy Purchasing Coordinator, under the supervision of a pharmacist and the Manager, Pharmacy Purchasing, is responsible for all activities of the pharmacy department that involve the procurement, receipt, and inventory management of medication, supplies, and durable medical equipment (DME).
Essential Functions and Duties
- Ensure adequate inventory of all necessary medication, supplies, and DME.
- Optimize medication inventory par levels to avoid stockouts and reduce waste.
- Remove expired, short-dated, or recalled inventory and process according to policy and procedures.
- Monitor, communicate, and manage medication, supply, and DME shortages.
- Process invoices for payment by Accounts Payable in a timely manner and per company procedure.
- Process Return Good Authorizations from vendors and patients.
- Coordinate the assessment, management, and report of medication, supply and DME failures/recalls.
- Lead mid-year and annual pharmacy inventories.
- Adheres specifically to all company policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Required Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
Required Knowledge:
- Demonstrate understanding of nufactor’s medications, supplies, durable medical equipment and their uses in addition to the scope of services provided by nufactor.
- Proficient with pharmacy terminology, abbreviations and calculations.
- Knowledge of general pharmacy dispensing requirements and federal/state regulations and laws.
- Intermediate knowledge of Joint Commission and URAC requirements and standards.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality to the level of required HIPAA standards.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience of pharmacy purchasing experience preferably in a hospital home healthcare, infusion, or specialty pharmacy.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience of pharmacy purchasing experience, preferably in a home healthcare, infusion, or specialty pharmacy.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrate advanced analytical and problem-solving skills in resolving complex discrepancies.
- Intermediate level of understanding and use of computers applications that include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and internet technologies.
- Operate office equipment which includes: computer, scanner, printer, copier, and phones.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Work with a high degree of accuracy in an organized, detail-oriented manner with appropriate follow-up as required.
- Proactive approach to managing workload, able to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions.
- Able to prioritize work and make decisions independently and effectively, often quickly in response to dynamic patients needs, except were required or restricted by law.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally and successfully with patients, teammates, and management.
- Able to work as part of a team, including on-site and remote teammates.
- Display excellent judgment on a consistent basis with sound decision-making abilities.
Professional Certification:
Certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred, unless required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
Full, current, and unrestricted pharmacy technician registration in the required States preferred, unless required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
Physical requirements
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for long periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. Must have the ability to lift and maneuver items of at least 50 lbs. Working conditions include normal warehouse setting.

Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service.
