Full Job Description
Welspun Pipes, Inc seeks Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level III to work in the Little Rock Metropolitan Area, including 9301 Frazier Pike, Little Rock, AR 72206.
DUTIES: Responsible for preparing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures, selecting, and developing NDT techniques for testing, training, and certification of NDT personnel. Responsible for set-up, calibration, and troubleshooting of NDT equipment. Implement and monitor NDT procedures. Utilizes understanding of welding techniques and testing machines, as well as familiarity with America Petroleum Institute (API) requirements and is responsible for implementing International Organization for Standardization (ISO), API, and SAP systems in the production area. Specific duties include: 1. Develop NDT procedure & techniques for inspection of pipes as per American Petroleum Institute (API) 5, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and customer specifications. Identify training needs of NDT personnel. 2. Based on needs, develop training calendar & training schedule. 3. Conduct in-house training to the NDT personnel, including visual inspector. 4. Conduct extensive on-
job training to develop competent and skilled NDT operator. 5. Administration of training & certification of NDT personnel and maintaining certification records. 6. Develop test coupon with artificial defects, develop question paper and chart for on-the-job training. 7. Periodical evaluation of competency of NDT personnel and submission of report to management for review. 8. Prepare a list of qualified operators on various NDT station and ensure that only authorized persons are working. 9. Witness various NDT test activities on daily basis to ensure that testing is done as per approved work instruction & process chart. 10. Assist in set-up and calibration of NDT equipment during size changeover. 11. Trouble shooting of quality & technical issues in NDT equipment and activities. 12. Work on process improvement. 13. Review NDT stations report on a daily basis. 14. Select & procure new NDT equipment. 15. Develop and enforce radiation safety program and maintain radiation records of NDT personnel working in radiation area. REQUIRES: Highschool Diploma / GED (or foreign equivalent); 7 years of experience (84 months) in professional engineering positions, such as Process Engineer, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) engineer. Must have ASNT Certification NDT Level III; and 7 years of experience working in positions directly related to troubleshooting, NDT machines, MPI, Real Time Radiography, X-Ray machines at a spiral saw pipe plant. (ALT Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering; 5 years of experience (60 months) in professional engineering positions, such as Process Engineer, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) engineer. Must have ASNT Certification NDT Level III; and 5 years of experience working in positions directly related to troubleshooting, NDT machines, MPI, Real Time Radiography, X-Ray machines at a spiral saw pipe plant.
