The City of Chesapeake is seeking a dedicated MIH Program Manager to oversee and advance the operations of the Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) Program within the Fire Department. Reporting to the Fire Chief and Chief Medical Officer, this position plays a critical leadership role in enhancing community health by connecting individuals who frequently use 9-1-1 for non-emergencies with appropriate care services. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking healthcare leader passionate about improving public health outcomes through strategic partnerships and innovative program management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and evaluate MIH staff; assist with recruiting, hiring, and training.
• Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the MIH program.
• Lead process improvements, quality assurance initiatives, and strategic planning.
• Manage program operations, budget, contracts, and key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with federal, state, local agencies, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders.
• Serve as Chesapeake's representative to the Virginia State MIH Workgroup.
• Oversee participant enrollment, care coordination, and discharge planning.
• Conduct public education initiatives and community-based safety programs.
• Prepare reports, deliver presentations, and facilitate program updates to leadership.
• Ensure accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience in healthcare, EMS, public health, or a related field.
• Proven leadership and program management skills.
• Ability to build effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare systems, public health models, and community-based care.
