POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides indirect and direct patient care activities and performs clerical duties under direct supervision of the provider/ licensed nurse. Supports and maintains University Health's policies, protocols, values and guest relations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED is required. A Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school or certification from an approved credentialing body for medical assistants is required. National certification as a registered Medical Assistant is preferred. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card. One-year experience in a clinic, doctor’s office or ambulatory setting is desirable, but not required.
