Full Job Description

The Vice President, Software Product leads the development and execution of our prescribing and ordering platform for veterinarians and their clients. This role leads product strategy, roadmap and execution, and collaborates across functions to define product development priorities, ensure achievement of customer satisfaction and performance against business goals.

What you’ll do:

Product Vision & Strategy

  • Develop and articulate a clear product strategy and roadmap aligned with Wedgewood’s overall business objectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and inform decisions.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the platform.

Product Development & Management

  • Own the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch and optimization.
  • Lead product roadmap development, prioritization, and execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering, commercial, customer care and operations teams to clarify requirements.
  • Utilize agile methodologies to drive iterative development and continuous improvement.
  • Manage product backlog, define requirements, prioritize resources, and define acceptance criteria. Ensure the platform is scalable, reliable, and secure.

Customer Insights & Experience

  • Deeply understand customer needs and pain points through user research, data analysis, and feedback.
  • Champion a customer-centric approach to product development, usability and user experience.
  • Design and optimize the user experience to drive engagement, utilization and satisfaction.
  • Analyze user behavior and identify opportunities for improvement

Technical Leadership

  • Possess a strong understanding of software, data engineering, application development, and data analytics.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop and delivery key new product features, capabilities and enhancements including detailed technical requirements.
  • Make informed technical decisions related to platform architecture and development.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends B2B and B2C prescribing and ordering technologies.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build and lead a high-performing product team.

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

What you’ve done

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in digital product management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and product development best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Technical understanding of web and mobile technologies.
  • Experience with API integrations and cloud based platforms.
  • Experience with data analytics and reporting.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends on occasion
  • Travel required

  • Compensation Range: The pay range for this position is $180,000 -$250,000 commensurate with the individual's experience and qualifications.
