The repair machinist repairs damages on centrifuge parts by machining using manual machine tools such as lathes, mills or drill press
The tasks and responsibilities for the role include:
- Independently sets up and machines used as well as new centrifuge parts as described in technical documents such as drawings and technical bulletins or as described in written instructions such as inspection reports or routing sheets
- Able to identify damages such as corrosion, fractures or heat-effected zones and inspects all repair parts for additional damages, repairs damages as necessary or points out damages to the supervisory personnel to ensure the damages are repaired in the appropriate department.
- Uses a spinning lathe to install linings and rings as described in technical documents such as drawings, sketches and technical bulletins as well as described in written instructions such as inspection reports or routing sheets
- Sets up measuring tools and checks pertinent dimension. Responsible for own quality
- Uses machine tools such as milling machines and drill presses as well as hand tools to manufacture features such as grooves or cutouts. Drills for and installs rivets in centripetal pumps
- Reviews and completes required documentation and administrative paperwork such as repair documentation, quality documents or daily labor sheets. Forwards daily labor sheets in a timely manner
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment. Follows all applicable QHSE rules and regulatory requirements
- Fulfills additional duties as assigned by supervisor
Your Profile / Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent manual machinist experience.
